The doctor has nearly recovered his accustomed health again not his strength - lost about 14 lbs. flesh looks thinner than I ever saw him before. We are all well now. The weather very cool to day. Our hopes are over -- I cannot realize it -- I want to see you O dear afflicted Samuel & the rest of the dear ones Oh, how much! There is so much I want to know, what she said & felt -- If I could only have been there to minister to her to express to her my sympathy & love - but it is now too late - It is hard to spare her to feel that her own smile & loving words will no more greet us: it has made a great void to us that are left the path of life grows lonely - Oh how much she suffered, yet I suppose I cannot know & feel this as you that were with her do, who watched her from day to day, & saw her going nearer & nearer home - to the blessed home - free from suffering, at rest & happy beyond all we can conceive.
