  The mail brings us information that the Indian Chiefs have returned from Washington badly snubbed, & in an ill humour, which means war & the death of many good men - From the newspaper reports of the conferences, there is no doubt that this end is intended - The long peace has given to much unclear for the examination with Indian Affairs by outsiders.
