            too much Wisky the place being Very Stony we Could not dig a grave, 
            and he smell'd very Strong; we laid him between two old logs and Covered 
            him with stones and Wood and Cut a great many Saplings over him and

            our horses being all tired. we went by water and Came that Night to a 
            Delaware town, the Indians used us Very Kindly. 

the 27. Set of again in the morning early, by Rainy Whether Dined in a Sinicker

           town where an old Sinicker woman Reigns with great Athority, in her 
           house we dined and they all used us very well, at this & the last Mentioned 
           delaware towns they Received us by firing off a great many Guns Especially 
           at this last place we had Saluted the towns by firing of four pair of Pistols. 
           arrived that Evening in loystown we Saluted the town as before and they 
           the Indians fired above one hundred Guns, and Great Rejoying appeared 
           in their Countinances. from the place where we took water-that is from 
           the old Shawanostown Commonly Called Chartierstown to this place it 
           is above 60 miles by water but about 35 or 40 by land
