As for Money, I shall get some today or tomorrow. I have hardly 5.00 left now}. Our President told me he had been saving up some for me, but was obliged to pay it to another the very day before I came. So you see if I had not stopped in Portland, I should have got my five or six hundred as soon as it arrived here. However he said he would get some for me and I should have twelve per cent interest on the rest.
I think I shall go round to Northfield etc. either tomorrow or Monday 17th. perhaps go to Warwick; perhaps to Troy, N.Y. I came near riding up to Henniker with Mr. Chase today, but thought not on Weather & travelling.
May possible conclude, just to keep my friends from worrying, to go up to Dunbarton.
I wrote to Eliab, and to Charles from Portland on Tuesday. I am anxious to hear from you every day. I am afraid you will get that Homeopathist or some one to Doctoring you. Do now be quiet and easy and happy, and calm and not tire or excite yourself; not walk about or exercise you lege too much, be careful of your diet, keep your bowels in order; if you cannot do it without, send for some rhubarb pills & take one on going to bed at Night. Nap daily, and lie down much. Back Gammon frequently, but not more than an hour at a time. Avoid fatigue & excitement Enjoy yourself Socially & religiously I should be the Doctor to cure you, rather prevent other things hindering Nature cure you! if you would only follow
