I am glad to hear so good an account of you that you are so well following out my & other good Hydropathic directions. I really do not see why you cannot practice Hydropathy exactly as well at home as you could away at any "establishment". If however the Well has failed and you have no cold water, it is certainly an adverse circumstance. Would you know too how to treat a crisis? do they not have some such a thing? When under the influence of the water all the poisons & corruptions of the system begin to burst out in the form of Boils &c. I do not know whether you fully understand my view of your case, disease, & proper remedies. It is of this sort - The Lameness itself being simply an injury to the spine, can be cured or benefitted by no active "remedies" or "treatment" whatever. It requires simply rest, quiet, entire freedom from excitation of the mental & physical system; merely giving Nature and the Nerves an opportunity to rest & help themselves you would probably have got over it in a month or two at most. But unfortunately an exactly opposite course was taken. The most violent remedies with poisons &c. which it is absolutely necessary to was & soak out by the Water Cure before Nature can have any chance with the original ailment. Also in as far as your former habits of mind & body were injurious to the system must the system be renovated by water
