By the way S.F. Belknap, the Rail Road King of America has just died. What an immense amount of Rail Road property he has had in his hands. I have heard it stated that he has received 20000.00 on one semi annual Dividend of Stock on one R.R. the Fitchburgh. Dead, & Insolvent; property enough in his hands to buy a kingdom perhaps.

   Flour Speculation. You know best. If it is really as your figures would indicate, go into it, all over. If you have confidence in the feasibility of the plan, you may take what money of mine is in your hands, and by the last of July I could send you $100.00 more, certainly $150.00 or by m of Sept. if I have none but good fortune, perhaps 200.00
I have not far from $100.00 on hand; some wanted for current expenses however as I pay every thing as I go on, and Pay Roll is 45 days behind in all.

The N.H. State R.R. Commissioners are just paying a visit to this same N.H. Central R.R. Mr. Chase delivered the whole horse including two big White horses & Grand Carriage, over to me the other night and I spent yesterday & tomorrow in parading them about over my territory. I am a good deal pleased with the men too. They are gentlemen besides being talented & able men.

 We have had the very extreme of Hot Weather here for a Week past. Thermometer 90 to 98 in shade 120 in Sun. perfect boiling weather. Every thing dried right up. Grass burnt even to the roots.
