I heard a man preach yesterday; that I heard last in Bangor. Rev. Mr. Clark, Agent of the A.B.C. F.M. at West Goffstown N.H. A rainy day, & very few at Church.

Where & what is Chas. Harlow now? Do you know any thing of him? Who are Bangor First Parish to have for a Minister? How can I join the Sons of Temperance if I do not live where they are? I was almost tempted to join the Odd Fellows at Northfield. Would it not be worth the while if I were going West?

I did think of having my letters directed to

Care of F. Chase Esq, Eng. N.H.C.R.R.
                           Manchester N.H.

As wherever I am on the line I could get them pretty readily through him. But there is a Post Office very near where one of my men lives and I can get letters by him. I believe it is "Oil Mill Village" N.H. At any rate this will be mailed there. The place where I now board is "Parkers", a little village in the West part of West Goffstown, near on a corner of New Boston one mile from Oil Mill Village, inhabited principally by Parkers, with the principal of whom I am. good folks

                                                                                                 Sincerely I.S.M., Brother

[left-hand side] I wish you would write me word sometimes when your business will make you in Boston and perhaps I will send thither by Express a Trunk which I shall wish to send Home if I find I am to stay here.
