As for principles pf U.S. Constitution of origin etc. of which you speak: I did not mean as you take. I meaned the deep foundations of that Constitution; the great principle of human liberty, equality & responsibility, of responsibility of self to God. not through any divine right of king, cheiftain or pope to usurp the place to be the conscience of the man. This was the deep principle, that Hiver & the Round Heads, and our puritan forefathers found in the Bible, and made the strong foundation of Our & the English Constitutions; with all their rights & manifestations. These, Representation, Habeas Corpus, etc. etc. etc. are but the manifestations, the workingspout, the adaptations of deep principles.

That is the thing, You have not in the the bible the manifestations, adaptations & developments of all these things, any more than you have of the Creeds of Metaphysics, theology, and philosophy; any more than you have of the Steam engine & the Mag. Telegraph. But you have something which lies away back of all these; the deep foundation, the great starting point of all these: the quarry whence comes the stone cut out without hands which became a mountain & filled the whole Earth.

Matrimony You conjure if there not an extreme of precipitation. Well, I am inclined to think there may be. An Engineer on this Road has just married a servant girl of the Hotel where he boarded, 16 yrs old, ignorant, not very respectable. Your next remarks are perhaps valuable. but unsusceptible of reply. For next head, of Kindred Spirits, I must refer to Prov. Phil. As for difference of the sexes: whether there is really any natural difference at all, whether the difference of character, propensity and sentiment, is not to be attributed to difference of circumstance, Education and habit, is a point, question in Natural History upon which I am not decided; in fact I have never attended to it. and should hardly know how to enter upon the research of such a subject. I should examine the Bible some upon it, though I do not know as any thing there could be brought to bear.

Buffalo Convention. "Hurra for Martin Van Buren, & Charles Francis Adams". Them's my sentiments, & that is my ticket. All I can do will be done for that ticket. It is expected that the Elections of Mass. & N.Y. will be elected for that ticket if no more. All N.E. ought to be.
