Where I chanced to see Dr. Boynton, Lawyer Hager, & Abiel Avery Sup. S.C. Dr. Boynton asked me two or three questions, guessed there was no need of examining me, and gave me a certificate. I went into Hager's office, by the way, they are two fine men, & there were tother two who signed it. Richmond Vill. not great.

 P.M. I staid & talked with June, wife of J.S. & Step daughters, and at night went over to David Perry's, my home. Pleasant sort of people, David & Wife, two children, Henry 16, Maria 13. The air tight stove good in the Master's room, not being yet set, I write this in the Kitchen, with the folks, the aforesaid 4.

To day, being Sabbath, I walked 4 miles to Meeting, nearly. There is usually Free Will Baptist meetings ( or Quaker) in my School House none today, there are 4 different Meeting Houses, in as many different direction, within 3 or 4 miles each from here. I went South, Stage Road, to the Corner. Very neat little Church 1/2 time Congregational. Rev. Mr. Rand, the preacher, of whom I know only his name, & that he is a pretty fair preacher, rather youngish, the other half preaches at Richmond Village I anticipate quite a pleasant school here, small, probably about 30 scholars, forward, bright scholars. I have seen some of them, Some very bright I hear.

 I shall probably be provoked at you, if you do not write to me, pretty soon. immediately. Does our Brother Eliab, and Sister Anne reside at Bangor now?

If so, please inform them that I dwell at Richmond, having a Main direction, at Gardiner, Care of J.S. Mitchell Esq.
