Framingham Brunswick March 9th, 45

I am here at Brunswick, arrived Friday night at 11 P.M. (and the way I have had the 'Blues' since I have been here is by no means slow, considering that it is me, who am not often troubled with such sort of critters, you know. However, let me tell you the whole history since I left Home. When I started I waited awhile for Severance and then went on. down to Bradford & there waited. Severance got along there at most 3 oclock, and stopped to bait?, Said he should go down to Merritt that night, and in early in the morning. I got a chance to ride down to Merritt ( and went on Got to M Dudley's in the eve. The next morning I waited & waited till I was tired, for Severance to come so I might get my trunks ready etc. At noon Walked in to the City, and streets in snow & mud the rest of the time. Bought a Cloak, pair pants, & Vest, of Oliver Dresser & Co. for $16.00. The vest was 1,25, or 1,00. The Pants 4,50 or 4,00. The cloak was perhaps a little better than those I found at other places for 13,00 to 15,00, the same sold last fall for 16,00 to 18,00. You see it is not the season for Cloaks to sell, & every one was anxious to sell. This one had been worn a few times, but just as good, price $15.00

I have repented that I bought so valuable one, for I could not at all afford it any how. though it seemed somehow necessary to my 'doing.' I expected Severance all that day with the greatest impatience. He might at least have sent the trunk along by Cutts. Severance arrived the day after, Thursday, March 6th, at 10 1/2 oclock. So I could not leave Bangor till Friday. The Stage starts at 4 A.M., but the rascally waiter waked me up before 3 instead, so I slept only three hours.

The travelling was very bad. Stage went on wheels all the way, but some of the way, over the Diamont hills etc. the snow was drifted much much of the way, Muddy, terrible rough & icy besides some times
