I intend to be homesick or worse this winter, except evening. & no room to myself
[upside down] I want that trunk very much. Our writing master Sat. A.M. Tash, went to Brunswick one week vacation. Several Academy scholars from off. Treat, Enfield, Grant, Brewer, Butters, Exeter, 3 Lincoln. Those live here. going to me. Nancy Carpenter etc. and M. Edes Davis, Gocely etc.
As you said I must write, I spose I must. perhaps I shall have no better time than today as it is Thanksgiving and I do not keep School. I have nearly 10 scholars already and more next week, no large ones yet hardly.
It is a case of a School, so many & about all of a size, a witching uneasy set of little rogues as can be imagined. I never see such a task, it tries my patience much I hope to get them regulated, a little in time. I hear 25 or 30 classes per day, mostly large, some near 20 in a class.
I board at Mr. Parkers! Circumstances prevented Mr. Stevens from boarding & Mr. Eldes had spoke to Mr. Parker, & I had . I have here no room to myself which is troublesome. chamber is cold & cant write or study there. 10 oclock is the family bedtime & I cant conveniently sit up longer which makes short evenings. Monday eve I went to Deacon Carpenter's , a very select party! Tash, Stevens, Fof? Holnes' girls. Eldridge Carpenter there. Seth, Susan, Abby, Nancy Nathan I like the family very well. I got back before 12, but found the door buttoned me out!
Mr. Parker's Thanksgiving sermon Abolition, "Remember those in bonds as bound with them" I dont know how liked. The Tash has less 20 scholars. Stevens is going to College Not much Thanksgiving here. Dinner at 12 & I got mine cold besides, no great loss though! Say their thanksgiving after Donation day. Next week thursday or 1 week after I want my things in that trunk much some,.
