I received your letter last night when I get home from school I am very well and have been over page torn I came home and so is all of Mrs. P.s family The measles are very prevalent here. page torn and a good many have died of them. here it is said that there was not so much snow in the 2 last winters put together And it has been very cold indeed too but since the 20th: has been warm and the snow has gone off fast During the cold weather I had to be pretty busy and work pretty hard but warm weather page torn burn half so much Now that the stove is out of the kitchen it takes page torn wood most as much as in our kitchen at home I think that I get along pretty well in my studies I have got a little ways into the latin reader I get a lesson in the reader in the fore noon and one in the Grammar in the after noon I think that by the time school is done I shall have got along so that I can make a pretty good progress alone We have got more than 1/2 ofthroug the Philosiphy and are now reviewing I joined a class in Smiths Arithmetick when I came here had got as far as the Rule of three we have been through it and are now reviewing it so as to be ready for examination We parse 3 times a week and recite grammar 2 ? The examination is to commence Wendnesday page torn How long it will be I dont know the common page torn about the same time The apprentice school left off last week I have not page torn William Bean at all I dont know as it is worth the while to write so much if I am coming home so soon. I get along pretty well in my studies & so forth. You tell me to wrote every minute incident well then I have got to build the fire Monday morning I have not built it but once before this time have to have a good fire before 8 o clock I have to get up about light two fire to build which takes some time then as often as every other morning, I have to run down to the market or store pretty lively when I get a chance You can see pretty plainly I guess that I have not improved much in Writing but the master does not pretend to teach writing and what with every thing else I have not much time page torn From Your affectionate Son page torn
