Wed. June 1st 1898. hot a.m. finished planting corn on south strip East of ditch at wood lots. p.m. cultivated home garden 3 p.m. to wood lot planted corn on north strip east of ditch, S strip was marked one way. took more than a whole day to plant. N strip marked both ways. only took 2 hours to plant. Eve. to Lake Ave. Thurs. 2. hot a.m. hoe corn & squashes in garden. put hellebore on currants. p.m. after school Ike Keyes Nelson & I went to hill lot. planted Rural N.Y. Potatoes. 5 rows East side of flat. Eve. to D C Baldwin's & EWM's on A.M.A. bus. Fri. 3. hot. a.m. picked over the little potatoes for planting. Went to Bank and sent off A.M.A. money. p.m. Ike (got excused from School after first period) and I to hill lot plant potatoes 13 rows on flat. Early Puritan Eve. to Lake Ave. practise for Anniversary Miss Wingate here. Sat 4 a.m. all work in garden till 9:30 I went to Sears' to practise my solo for tomorrow p.m. Eli Ike & Keys to H S Field Day . Nelson & I (& Gene Corell) to hill lot. Plant
