Tues. Apl 12, 1898. fair. warm. A.M. went to mill & got 500 lb han? cut off ash limbs in lane p.m. wood lot trimming. On way home talked with Aunt Albina & Mrs. Twiss. Eve. S. S. class here at 43. and Roy Foley's class also. 21 kids. all my boys except Lozier & Tedrow. Marion gave them warm sugar and dough nuts. pea-nut hunt. buzz, sing hymns etc. Wed 13. clouding up. trimming all day. Rode up in p.m. horse does not go lame, but leg is very big & Stiff. Brought home tools from woods In p.m. I painted the scars, on apple trees. 1st ship launched at Lorain today. Thurs 14 a.m. I stayed home & got bedding from stack p.m. hill lot, Geo. plowing at South end. we dug the parsnips, cleared up bushes & trees along south fence & burned them and hauled 2 loads wood. Roads dusty. G C Kinglets. Adder tongue in blossom. Chas. cut down English Streak Apple tree after supper. Fri. 15 a.m. wood lot. Chas. trimmed I painted scars. p.m. Chas & I painted scars at hill lot. home early & cut up Eng. Streak tree. Geo. plowing & sowing oats, hill lot..
