Wed 29 a.m. to woods. stormy. wet snow. brought home green furnace wood. p.m. home. chop stalks. pile wood in cellar. Thurs 30 did not freeze last night. a.m. Eli & I to woods. not Ike. finished the big maple & some others. p.m. to woods with Ike. cut 2 beech & 2 ash trees in a heap. Eve. prayer mtg. Prof. Anderson up Wyoming Collegiate Inst. C.E. business mtg. I presided. Fri. 31 Dec. 1897 colder, N wind, snow. a.m. to woods. Ike walked to Adams corner. load of stove wood.
