Monday Dec, 27. 1897 a.m. found that # cross cut saw was stolen. borrowed another from. Geo. & Eli Ike & I went to woods. cut down big maple tree near ditch. p.m. to woods. Ike walked up. Eve. played Pillow Dex. Tues 28 We three to woods a.m. & p.m. took big wagon and brought home small loads. Wed 29 a.m. to woods. stormy. wet snow. brought home green furnace wood. p.m. home. chop stalks. pile wood in cellar. Thurs 30 did not freeze last night. a.m. Eli & I to woods. not Ike. finished the big maple & some others. p.m. to woods with Ike. cut 2 beech & 2 ash trees in a heap. Eve. prayer mtg. Prof. Anderson up Wyoming Collegiate Inst. C.E. business mtg. I presided. Fri. 31 Dec. 1897 colder, N wind, snow. a.m. to woods. Ike walked to Adams corner. load of stove wood. Cut big rotten Elm. p.m. to woods with sled. Eve. Eli & I to Bible Lecture by Bosworth. and sundry errands down town. Father some pain. Chas. & I both down stairs at night. Jo, home 11 p.m. on Electric cars. Father had 'heart pains caused by sour stomach.
