Sat. Oct. 23, 1897 a.m. shelled corn. new corn. Eli took it to mill. split wood. p.m. all of us picking apples at home. Father is failing much. Has "Angina Pectoros". terrible pain at heart. Also has to have catheter used. I have used it for him every 2 hours or so today. In bed all day, except a few minutes in morning. Needs pretty constant attendance. They will probably send for Chas. to come home & take care of him. Sun. 24. Attended only S.S. and Jail service. Quartette sang "Some sweet day" at Jail. Doctor gave Father hypodermic injection of morphine last night & he has been quieter & less painful, slept heavily in night and today. Mon. 25 bed last night from 6:30 - 11-- then sat up rest of night with father. medicine every hour. Father better. a.m. to Garfords after koumiss for father. to West side with washing. p.m. pick apples at home. Harl. arrived 6:50 I slept up stairs. Tues. 26 a.m. hill lot picking apples. p.m. Harl to Cleveland to see Pilgrim Ch. people Wed 27 sat up latter part of last night w. father. a.m. hill lot. apples. Chufer, kohlrabi. p.m. pick over chufers Eli pick quinces after school. bed 7 p.m. up stairs
