Rich's Chas & I. got axe & saw sharpened then I picked pears for Geo. and Chas. helped him haul manure. eve. prayer mtg. W.F. McMillan spoke Fri Sept. 16 1897 Wilders birthday. hot. Eli Ike & I in swimming before breakfast Chas. to hill lot before breakfast for lot of sweet corn. I took it down town but could not sell it, Then Chas & I to wood lot sawing. p.m. Chas & I cleared out the 2 cisterns north of house Net went to Lorain in p.m. Sat. Sept. 11 1897 My birthday. 26 and nothing more. hot. I was awfully cross all day, sneaky mean. Barnum's Circus All we kids went over to Fair Ground and saw the circus getting ready and they went to Reublin's Mill and got on the awning to watch the parade, the same as we used to do when Father owned the mill. P.M. Chas. Eli & I cutting wood at wood lot. Marion came home from the Lake. Sun. 12. still hot. but threatening rain. Eli gave me 2 birthday presents, a leather watch chain and 5 chewing gum. Last Sunday in the Bapt. Ch I taught 3 classes kids. Eli & Fred Reeve to Lake Ave. with me. they drove home & I staid at C. Miller's to supper. Led the Lake Ave. C.E. and walked home after it.
