Tues 27. fair. frost. Father has terrible lame back Lumbago. Got up at 9 oclock. can hardly move. Planted early beets, peas, beans + sweet corn in E end N strip. along the side: Baltimore orioles, yellow Warblers eve. to DeWitt house to help Geo. Quartette practice. Cora Baker gone home sick

Wed 28 fair warmer. Wood Thrush singing Father little better. up early, rode down town a.m. trim trees. p.m. mend fence at wood lot. eve. L.C. Program Com. and Quartette practice H.W. Ingersoll loaned me Revised Statutes Cows in pasture in p.m. Beets + carrots all gone.

Thurs 29 cloudy. warm. Bobwhite. Cat bird. White thrt sparrows mend fence all day. In p.m. Father went up + sowed Alsyke seed and walked back. eve. Wm. Sherwood led meetig. Teachers mtg. most trees are quite green now. leaves half grown.
