70 Wednesday the 16th Remained at home (all in confusion setting to rights and making everything comfortable) until after dinner when we got into the carriage & first drove to a few shops then to the Piazza de where we walked up & down below the capitol where there are a number of ancient Temples discovered this is all very interesting to see yet it is extremely melancholly also we walked about in this enclosure until time for locking the gates when we depart? to see the Colisaeum which we only passed through I think it would be much pretier if there were no so many altars strewed around it for they hide a great portion of the lower part of the ruins -- came home had tea & the children a bed?
