Tuesday afternoon Dinner just over and I have concluded to finish this and mail it this afternoon with a Daguerreotype I went to Concord yesterday with father and had a fine ride to get it. All who have seen it think it good and I hope you will like it though it does not seen to me very good. The artist, Mr. Kimball of Concord thought it the best he could do Mother is resting and father also and Jenny busy about dinner dishes & Mayo is here with me in the sitting room and I cannot write very well he bothers me so.. He is all the while catching my finger or my pen or bringing some thing for me to see little rogue. He is some fretful too, but well I believe He was a very good boy with mother yesterday while we were gone. I am afraid I shall not get a letter to day but if I get two Thursday as last week it will pay all and then I had the picture besides you know. Wasn't I glad? Mother is writing a little to you She takes a deal of comfort with little Mayo. We had rain last Friday and Saturday, gentle and quite and fresh. Saturday night it rained very powerfully indeed. seemed to be pailsfull rather than drops. The grass looks quite green since the potatoes probably so much refreshed by plentiful drinking, that they will grow a little more. Father dug nine hills to day for about enough to last two days. very good, but small. We are to have company from Concord tomorrow. Mr & Mrs. Smart & daughter. Had letter from George last Saturday. Well has a flourishing writing school and has charge of a reading class seems happy. There have been
