Saturday May 7th

Rained some last night Passed a government train owned by Majors and Russell it consist of 26 wagons with 6 yoke of oxen to the wagon They have a wagon master and his word is law and gospel. the wagons are all wooden Axle with Lock chains instead of brakes They are made in Mishaw aka Indiana, and are all loaded with 4 unclear pounds besides the mens provisions and go to the forts on the plains when they camp they drive their wagons in a circle that forms a corrall for yoking the oxen in. We met 2 teams going back The men didn't seem to want to talk with us. Camped near a place where a man was murdered Traveled 20 miles
