Passed Umatilla at 7.30- Met Steamer "Almota" at 11AM- arrived at Cililo at 3 P.M. and after the usual delay went on the cass and was at the Dalles at 4.20 P.M. and went on board the Steamer R.R. Thompson to sleep- State Rooms unclear Friday March 5- 1880, Set out at 5 AM. and soon entered cloudy, misty, rainy web foot weather- Was at the upper cascades at 10- Took Train on the north side River at 12.30 PM and at 1 oclock was at the Lower Cascades and set out down the Columbia at 230 on the Steamer "S. G. Reed" and was at the wharf at Portland at 8 P.M- Put up at the St. Charles Hotel Saturday March 6~ 1880 Remained in Portland - visited Sunday March 7~ 1880 Remained in Portland- visited Monday March 8~ 1880 Left Portland at 4 P.M in company with unclear -- Ex-Ger?
