Wednesday March 19 1879 Went to Bartges' on foot 8 miles

Tuesday March 26 1879 Bartges went to the Mountain to take me back home with horses and hack the snow is soft and about a foot deep in the thick timber, but very wet underneath - Left hack 1/2 mile from Cabin and took the horses there for the night

Wednesday March 27 1879 Bartges returned home today, and I engaged a MrNewlin? with a hand unclear to aid me to bring my little supplies from the place where we left the Hack wagon last night

May 20 1879 Having returned to Bartges' and being required to return to Douglas County Oregon I set out - in Mr B' Hack and after reaching a point about half way to Walla Walla we were overtaken by a team going into Town and I took passage upon that B retuned home - I was in Walla Walla at noon
