Twilight fades to deeper grey. For the night steals on apace: Still I dream & in my dreams Grief & shadows I can trace. Cherished ones, now unclear to me Happy & unclear in other years: Seem to rise, like pictures sweet, Till the twilight disappears.

Twilight has a charm for me Coming with the dying day: For amid its dreams shades Thought will wander far away. Absent ones, with voices sweet, Seem to beckon & to call: Seem to wait that I may come, When the twilight shadows fall.

E.A. Barnes.
