Twilight fades to deeper grey, For the night steals on a face; Still I dream & in my dreams, Grief & shadow I can trace. Cherished ones, now lost to me, Happy scenes in other years; Seem to rise like pictures unclear, Till the twilight disappears.
Twilight has a charm for me, Coming with the dying day; For amid its dreamy shades, Thought will wander far away. Absent ones, with voices sweet, Seem to beckon & to call;- Seem to wait that I amy come, When the twilight shadows fall.
E.A. Barnes.
