1866. Monday, August 20. Spent the day at home cool & pleasant. Rec'd a letter from home which I answered—scolding some. Pretty busy in the office Recd a note at night & called to see the mother underlined & afterward called at Mr Conners & spent the balance of the evening. The Methodists voted to have an Organ tonight & the Pres' today to rent their hens
