 Left home about 8 o'clock in the morning under a sense of duty in company with my beloved friends David Bacon, William Savory and James Emlen to attend a Treaty with the six Nations of Indians intend to be held in the Seneca Country at a place Canada..qua, about 300 miles from Philadelphia, we refreshed ourselves at Casper Haines in Germantown from there rode to Joseph Potts's and dined.   18  5  Rose early and rode over the Locus Mountain to Devall-Trash about 6 miles to breakfast, the morning being pleasant we travelled cheerfully, tho' the road exceeding mountainous and stony, and rain coming on we continued forward about 14 miles to Laden Burgars and dined, after which we stoped and fed at a waist house, and got to Cattewisa in the evening about 13 miles and Loded John Merrisse's.
