North and east of Ft. Sowell are the Santa Catarina Nts.? 7 miles to the foot- hills of these Mts.- north; and 16 miles to the foot-hill of some Mts.- east. That portion of the Sanata Catarina Mts. east of Sowell is Known, beally?, as the Rivers. S.S.E from the port, and distant about 30? miles are the Santa Rita Mts. Just by and and near Tuscon are the Tucson Mts. On the Santa Catarina Mts. are the white and pitch pine and in the unclear older, white oak and unclear. Some ash is also found. Simestrne? and Sandstone formation unclear, in quarry?, and a little unclear, forward in these Mts. A few white- tasler?, and
