Feb. 14 1871 Personally appeared William McPherson who being duly sworn according in law, deposes and says that he has been for about four months herding cattle for Mr. H G Buckley, said cattle belonging to the Indian Department, and were in Mr. Buckleys charge for the purpose of herding. He farther States that he is cognizant of the fact that a number of the above mentioned cattle were killed and furnished to the tools at Fort Sill Indian Terrioty under the contract for supplying the troops at that Post. unclear farther states that he saw three head of said cattle that were killed and furnished to the troops aforesaid? and he knows that a number more were killed and that, the practice at this date continues, He saw the three head particularly mentioned on the 10th 12th of February 1871. Deporent? farther states that he has been present very often when beef was issued to the Indians and he does not think that the full amount called for by their orders was often issued, He feels sure that not more than 500 or 600 pounds was often given upon 1000 pound orders.
