Feb. 13, 1971 Personally appeared before me and undersigned, Mr. M. Armstrong.. who being duly sworn according to law deposed and said:- That he has been in the employ of H, C, Buckley Beef Contractor to the Indian Department? since July 1st. unclear. That he has been engaged in herding the Indian cattle during this time- this the average gross weight of these cattle, in unclear estimation, was about, nine hundred and fifty pounds (9,50) and not to exceed a thousand pounds, That he was present when the cattle were issued to the Indians; and is familiar with the whole process of issue. The practice has been to furnish the Indians about two thirds the amount of beef the orders called for, and he recollects of an instance where an order for forty four hundred pounds of beef was filled by an issue of not more than eighteen hundred pounds.
