I wrote to Aloord to-day urging him to my to try and get the Agency here, he has the confidence of these people and could do more with them than any man that could be appointed. I believe they are all within the limits prescribed for them while in Washington. Aloord's trip was a grand success, Although I am unclear to the backbone I was very sorry to hear of the death of unclear I certainly think that the American people will be candid enough to acknowledge that for the last twenty years he had probably been the most efficient instrument in moulding public opinion for the good fo his Country, of any man of his day A great Journalist, a true philanthropist and a great man has passes away.
