Everett Homestead Jan 15 1888 My dear Cousins There is an opportunity to send letters to the office this morning and as I have had the pleasure of reading you last good interesting letter to this family I am taking the liberty to write you a few lines as the inspiration to do so always comes to me when I come here and miss your presence. John Eddie is engaged in like manner though his letter is of a different nature I venture to assert. We are seated at the uncleared breakfast table which sounds lazy about it and will sound more so when I tell you

Written sideways well and happy as the occasion requires us to be - Though for myself I am always glad when the holiday season is over for there are associations connected with those days which we cannot wholly overcome - It is a joy to me to look forward to the days when we shall all be gathered with the loved ones gone before to see face to face the Christ whose birthday we celebrate at this season. All unite with me in love to you all with a wish that this New Year May be full of blessings for you. Your cousin Jennie
