Saturday, October 26, 1901 Another, warm, sunny beautiful day, all here as well, but me, I think my cold is better, but I have declined going out. Ada Swearingen came to see us, early this morning, and stayed until one O.clock, then she left for her house, to go out and play golf with her husband. she is very fond of blank, her invitations are coming in so fast for entertainments, that she has to send many regrets. Mr Ballard took breakfast with us but seems much pleased with Chicago. Mrs Shreve ordered a Coupé, and is gone to her house 527 Walnut Street to give some orders. She is not through yet with her visit to Mattie Belle. who has been keeping house for blank years, and this is the first time she has had a chance to stay with Mattie, her house is being well cleaned, and put in order for her. it will be ready in a few days.
