Wednesday, September 11, 1901 This is one of the most beautiful days of the season, cool and sunny. after breakfast all of us well. we sat on the Porch and talked Mr & Mrs blank called to say "Good Bye" as they leave at ten O,clock. for Chicago, we received a letter today from our Son Shreve, from Chicago. also a long letter from Frances with a list of Ada Swearingen gifts after marriage I will copy it also a letter from Gertrude Badger, and One from Adele Louise Badger, and one from Mrs Embry Swearingen, née Ada Badger describing her home, and all the nice things said about her, and how happy she was, Old Mr Swearingen no better, Mrs Mattie Badger is now visiting at the home of Mrs Harvey, then she goes, to Mrs Shreve Badger, Misses Ballard gone to Asbury Park with Bland Jr. Miss Moses brought her beautiful little Poodle to see us, all, little Shreve not well, to night so Adele Ballard sent for Dr Reeves, he says it is cold and Malaria, he has had it in his system for several years.
