Thursday July 29th 1875 It looks this morning like rain, all seem well with us, and all are going out to walk to the spring X and after lunch we walked to the Park, which is a block from our Cottage, the name of the Gentleman who owns the house is Croffs, we are all well, after dinner we all went to walk. met on the street Mrs Lucius Sherman, Mrs H. O. Stone is here, so is Mr W. W. Kimball Mr Ballard and I wrote to Mr Badger, my Father, Dr Craik, Mrs Donthill and will write to Mrs Leiter X to morrow. Friday July 30th 1875 It rained a little last night, but this morning is beautiful, I rose early and David. James, Hunt and I all went to the Hawthorn spring and drank the water, then to the Congress spring and took X a little. Hunt had the Dog named Joe with him, he is a beautiful Spitz,s dog. she is a pretty little girl who lives in the Cottage near us, and plays with our children. I wrote a long letter to day to Mrs Leiter in England. I have just received a letter from Mr Angell, he will be here in the morning. I also had a letter from Mr Badger X and Shreve, the twins are doing well. Saturday July 31st This is a beautiful day. all of us in health. I have a stiff neck from taking a sponge bath last night. all are up early going to the Depot to meet Mr Angell from New York. I walked down with Hunt but he did not come, so we all drank Washington water and returned to breakfast and then walked in the Park. at lunch Mr Angell walked in, he had missed connections. he is well and fat, but very depressed, after supper all walked out and X drank Congress water and Columbia water. Sunday Aug, 1st 1875 This has been a beautiful day. all of us well, after breakfast all of us including Mr Angell went to church, it was crowded with people. and we had very good preaching. we all went to the Hawthorn spring and returned to dinner, after dinner sat awhile at the door and then walked to the Graveyard and saw the grave of Gertie Croffs -- then to the Park, after supper I took a long walk with Mr Angell. he very blue --
