Teusday Oct 20 --1874, note top right: Grant X This has been a lovely day - all well - I went to Middletons laundry to day to see if Ada's dress was done up., After lunch we all commenced dressing for the Wedding, and we ordered our Carriage and Mr Badger Ada and myself all started Mr Angell and Eva went in their Carriage we got there on good time and found a beautiful dressed company, also many acquaintances the President and Mrs Grant were there in state Col Fred Grant the Groom and Miss Ida Honore looked very happy. they were married at three and the reception was at four. Everything was in fine style and flowers beautiful, the gifts were elegant and numerous. My daughters looked handsome, Belle in elegant rose silk Eva in pale green Ada in paris muslin and I in pearl silk. After the wedding Belle and Mr Harvey called to see us. We gave them some tea Mrs Sidnap called so did Mrs Gillette Mich Ave. After tea Mr WIley came in, Wednesday Oct 21, 1874 Another lovely day, all well, we busy getting Ada ready for Louisville, at noon Gen Murray call and Mrs Hull of Louisville, Catie Isaacs Lunt came to see us.. after tea Mrs Chandler called. Mrs S.B Jenkins and her sister Mrs Fred Ray and her Mother Mrs Hilyer all called after tea Mr Badger and myself, Mr & Mrs Angell, Ada, & Shreve all went to the English Opera of DonGiovanni, Miss Kellogg Prima donna. Thursday Oct 22nd 1874 To day has been beautiful, all well. all busy getting ready for Louisville sent for Miss Kyle and Miss blank, and had Lena sewing also. Mrs Shaw Mrs Holmes and Mrs Lucius Sherman, also Mrs Gillette, at eight o'clock Mr Angell Eva & Ada all took the train from 22nd Street for Louisville all of us went to the Car, so did Belle & Mr Harvey.
