June 17 White came linen 21st
Sunday June 14th 1863.
Still in bed stiff with Rheumatism. all the boys here to dinner. fine Weather. Father Badger came to dinner. little children are complaining a little. Pa still with me
Monday June 15th
Ella here to day and Licinia. Mr Hunt also took dinner -- received a letter from home.
Teusday June 16th
To night we have the Opera -- Octave, Licinia, Hattie, Brackett, and Mr Hilton all went. received a letter from Mr Badger
Wednesday June 17th
Our Weather is warm and dry -- Hattie went down and had her hair cut off. Sheridan also went to the Barbers and had his hair cut Licinia John & Mr Hunt came here to tea Mrs Larna?m & Alex? Ila? called.
Thursday June 18th
Fine Weather -- all well -- I feel better -- got up and dressed Mrs Wm Johnson called also Miss Steele Belle has two little girls taken tea with her after ten Miss Matilda Clark called -- Mr White has been here having trees fixed
Friday June 18th
Fine Weather -- all well but me -- I spend bad night -- but still am better -- I am fixing childrens leghorn hats --
Saturday June 19th 1863
This morning at eight O. clock. Mr Badger arrived from New York with a number of beautiful presents for us all -- he brought me a real lace shawl. two handsome robe? Lawns. one Pena dress -- two combs -- one steel and one gold. also two gilt bands for the hair -- a steel buckle with leather wrought in it. a lot of buttons (pearl) and ruffling. Albums for children and parlour skates a handsome travelling basket. beside numerous other things -- he looks well. Ella here -- Licinia came in also -- Ella went to the Opera -- Mr Hunt came to see mr Badger.
Sunday June 20th
All well -- but me -- I am much better all the boys here to day -- Mr Hunt took dinner with us. I had Mr Hunt come up stairs and see me -- Mr Badger and Pa went to night church. Mr Hunt left to night for Louisville.
Monday June 21st
I am much better to day -- all well -- Ella & Hattie went out to the farm this afternoon -- Belle gone to see Ella Walker -- they have commenced paving our street to day --dirt is being thrown on Mr Badger gone out to his Fathers -- my bill came in from Mr Busch for linen. it was one hundred & fifty dollars. great excitement in Washington the rebels marching on to Baltimore -- they are very strong it is believed that Vicksburgh will fall --- she is so surrounded by Federals.
