Wednesday Nov 26th 1862

Received a letter from Sis - they all well - making children cloth drab travelling dresses - hats and dresses trimmed with sky blue - felt hats square crown - vrey pretty trimmed in blue velvet - this is the day for Sue Greene's wedding - at 3 O.clock. I went down town shopping and at three I went to Bishop Whitehouse's church (Episcopal Minister) - the church was crowded - but they gave us the front seat - I took Belle Eva Ada Cousin Brackett and myself - the whole ceremony passed off finely six Bridesmaids and Groomsmen very handsomely dressed - the Grooms name was Algernon Sidney Belt - after they were married they returned to Judge Greenes house had had the wedding supper from 4 to 6 Oclock - I was urged to remain all evening and about seven Oclock a band of music came and we danced untill eleven - I sent children home early - Bridal party return to Cedar Rapids to morrow

Thursday Nov 27 --

This is Thanksgiving day - I went with Mr Badger and four children Belle, Eva, Ada & Sheridan to Father Badgers - he had a very delightful day - it snowed very much all day - we returned at ten O.Clock - Mrs Harrison has a very ill baby -

Friday Nov 28th

children have holiday to day - I took them shopping with me all day - I received a letter from Sister Belle - I bought Ada & Sheridan gray Plush cloaks - lso bought Ada a red velvet cloak - I ordered myself a garnet colored Velet bonnet with a while Plume Miss Norton visited us to a party at her house on Tuesday night - A. D Hunt arrived from Louisville to day - I wrote to Sister Belle to night

Saturday Nov 29 1862

I am busy to day - after breakfast I went down town with Belle & Eva - the ground full of snow its quite cold. Mr A. D. Hunt arrived from Louisville yesterday morning. Eva has bad cold - all the rest well - Mrs Field called to see me, so did Miss Matilda & Hattie Clark -- Mr Hunt took tea with us - after Tea Mr Seammon & his son Leist Seammons came to see us.

Sunday Nov 30th

This is an ugly day - very sloppy - Mr Badger gone to Church - I did not go - Mr Hunt spent the whole day with us - Mr Badger was walked tome to Tremont Hotel with him - Eva has Fever with her cold. Mr Carter Harrison has lost his baby - brain fever - they had a post mortem examination

Monday Dec 1st

It is very cloudy and cold - Miss Agusta Gurnee came to invite Octave to her whist club. I went shopping all day. Eva better - received a letter from home - they all well - I am making Ada & Shridan plush drab cloaks - little Clarks called to see children
