we take all our meals in our room. Took a long ride on Street-cars. Saw some beautiful residences & a profusion of all kind of flowers in full bloom & any number of orange trees loaded with fruit. We pay 50 cts per day for oranges here but they are fresh. Stopped in the Cemetery on our way back. The bodies are almost all put above ground in [?] vaults or tombs. Read Beulah all the Evening as the General was out all Evening having been invited to meet Beauregard, Hood and other Confederate heroes. Went to bed at 12 tired out -
