S.F. April 12th. 1869. My dear General.

We are informed that the "Lincoln" sails tomorrow for Sitka, but I hope that she will wait till we get a late eastern mail. The overland route has for two months past been a nuisance. Our information about the army bill amounts to almost nothing, and what we get is much mixed up in telegrams.
Captain Raymond started in the Brig Commander a few days ago for Yukon via Sitka.
