Friends! we are sorry, that it has pleased the great spirit to call one of your family from you, tho' that is not uncommon among the people on this earth! Our friend has only gon on the journey a few days before us, which we shall all have to travel; we therefore come to invite you not to mourn. The articles of clothing is preserved for the person that may be adopted in place of the deceased. It is customary for the relations of the deceased, to visit the place of internment; they address themselves to the grave, and relates the events that has transpired in the family since their departure; they then leave a piece of meat, a carrot of Tobacco and some spirituous liquor if they have any, and depart.
