In reference to your request for the records of the proceedings of our Committee and Council, the notice of that matter was merged in the more important one between us, in which I was absorbed at the time I received your first application. To your second one, I assure you, in reply, if there is any particular point relating to the records of the Committee and Council, upon which you desire to be informed, if you will specify it, so far as it appears consistent with my duty to the nation, it will gratify me to meet your wishes.
