After the above address was delivered, the letter alluded to was then handed to A. McCoy, the Clk of the W. Committee, and read by him to the Gen. Council and interpreted by Mr. Richard Taylor, a member of the National Committee. After a few remarks by the Path Killer, Pl. Chief -- Major Ridge, speaker of Council, then rose and addressed the assembly under the authority of the Genl Council & denounced Wm. McIntosh with infamy and disgrace, never again to raise his voice in the Council of this nation, as a chief connected with its authority.
McIntosh, with a deep sense of guilt and disgrace, in the utmost dejection of spirit and confusion of mind, with all speed, made a very sudden departure for his country. (Creek Nation/
