30 Be it known this day that we do decree that if any Cherokees, or any connected with a Cherokee, shall word scratched out bring in -scratched out white families into the Cherokee country, a lease to the whites lands belonging to our common right, without the approbation of the National Council at Urillstown or Oostenaleh, hereafter to be holden; -- he or they shall forfeit and pay one Hundred Dollars to the Nation & shall receive besides one hundred lashes on his or their back.

Near the Cherokee Agency, The National Committee has examined the within and other papers relating to Joseph Elliot's claim of being a descendant of the Cherokee Tribe of Indians, and has decided that they are of opinion the said Elliot's claim is unfounded & therefore reject the acknowledgment of his rights to & privileges as a Cherokee.
