In Council, Whereas Mr George Loury, having made application to the committee of this nation to obtain leave for Six White Men to reside near him on Battle Creek, in the Nation aforesaid for the purpose of being useful to the inhabitants in that district of the nation.

As that part of the country is very much exposed to the ravages of dishonest white men, in the practice of stealing property of every description from our people,

It is the opinion of the Committee that the white men will be very useful in suppressing & detecting such practices,

Permission, therefore, is hereby given to Mr. George Loury to have Six White Men to reside in his neighborhood, for the express purpose of protecting our people from the ravages of dishonest White Men & provided the United States agent will give the said White Men leave to live in our country for the purpose aforesaid, for the term of two years.
