cutoff Lenee? understood that the new town party cutoff hence? in contemplation another offering Delegation to encounter the Delegation of the Nation at Arcansas [Arkansas] at least, and perhaps also at Washington. What the result will be I am not able to divine? The most peissent? wefous? of the day, and particularly of the present administration, in the Indian department, are weitded? against the Cherokees - lying, money, and physical force! These dark, shineing and menacing argueyments, are the philosophy, logic, and rhetoric of the Cherokee controversy, on the part of the gov. while the Cherokees are panopled with truth, justice, innosence and unexampled forbearance. But why write thus to one whose soul, body and spirit have been schorched? in the premier of the Gr?sgier? Liqurition! What immortal friendship & undyng goodwill, are excited in the hearts of fellow sufferers in the good cause of philanthropy! While the grey La?is of the present Chief Magistrate, and those of cutoff enjoyed in the present crusaid? against the rights of the cutoff man, decend to the frewe? under the venerations? of the Indian race, the name? g? J.H.P. with others, who have fled the cause of bleeding innocence?, and ?ufring? humanity, will be remembered with the most greatful recolleetions, and perpetuated in the children of unborn generations!

I have lately recd a little pamphled published by B. F. Currie, in which he attempts to prove?, by a number of certifficates of kindred spirits, that yourself, Mr. Ross and the Hon. H. L. White & others, are the urgent knaves? on earth, and that Mr. Schermerhorn, himself & others, are of the true blue! This little Book is truly worthy of being preserved as a fair specimen of the "greate lying wonders of the times."
Wishing you, dear Sir all possible good, I remain yours most respectfully - Jas. J.. Trott J.H. Payne Esq.
