8. All nations came from one man and one woman, were all of one blood, and spoke one language till after the flood. But sometime after that event, men resolved to build a tower so high that they could go up to heaven. They proceeded, and built with wood, till they ascended very high. They then saw something in the air which so frightened them as to cause them to desist. God also spoiled their language so that they could not understand each other, and of course they were separated and formed different nations.
