again assemble at the National Heptagon, when black space and the others, unite with them in a general banquet upon the new fruits; and this completes the Second of the Great Festivals of the earliest times. The third in succession is called Tung, nah, kaw, hoongh-ni; -Mature, or Ripe, Green Corn (Maize) Feast; - and took place some forty or fifty days after the other, when the corn had grown hard and perfect; - the preparations for which all important Festival were these: black space through the seven prime Counsellors, having ascertained the state of the corn (maize), summoned a religious dance. They here made known the time fixed for the Festival, which usually followed the Dance in about twenty days.
