Resolved by the National Committee & Council that a person be appointed whose duty it shall be to edit a weekly newspaper at New Echota to be styled the Cherokee Phoenix. And also to translate matter in the Cherokee Language for the columns of said paper as well as for the translation of all public documents which may be submitte for publication, and that the sum of Three Hundred Dollars per annum be allowed to Said Edition & Translator for his services.
