The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Southeastern Massachusetts University North Dartmouth, Massachusetts 02747 Department of Modern Languages 18 February 1971 Mr. Jack Conroy 701 Fisk Avenue Moberly, Mo. 65270

My dear Mr. Conroy:

I have been enjoying your literary production over the past few years; therefore, I finally decided to sit down - in the blissfulness and tranquility of an early Thursday morning - to write you this. I am a French professor at the above named University and am particularly fond of your earliest work, e.g. A WORLD TO WIN and THE DISINHERITED. I want to thank you and congratulate you most heartily for your impressive literary achievements which have truly and justly won you many readers from all over.

At this time, I would like to address you several questions sincerely hoping you will take time from your present

schedule to answer them. I really hope you'll indulge this request from a most underline interested, /underline enthusiastic reader of yours.

Mr. Conroy, what are your present activities, literary and others?
Who has influenced you the most in your fructuous literary career?
May I also ask you... which of your works is your personal favorite (or the one you consider your best)?
